The Classic GTO Association of Denver (CGTOAD) is dedicated to the preservation and restoration of the Pontiac GTO - the world's premier Muscle Car. In 1963, famous automotive engineer John DeLorean conceived and designed the 1964 Pontiac GTO - the first production mid-sized automobile with a large-bore, 300+ horsepower, high-performance engine, and the Muscle Car era was born! The GTO was produced by General Motors for eleven model years: 1964 through 1974. Nicknames for the GTO include "The Tiger," "The Goat" and "The Great One." The CGTOAD sponsors or participates in a variety of activities throughout each year, such as car shows, cruises, trips, picnics, parades, club socials, and drag racing at Bandimere Speedway.
